The Chant of Ice

The Chant of Ice is a long-term and ongoing documentary project that observes and listens to the melting of the Làres Glacier, located in Trentino in the Italian Alps, within the Adamello mountain range.
It involves dozens of high-altitude expeditions that intertwine observation, documentation, the collection of video, photography, and sound, and the production of short films, museum video installations, a feature-length documentary, a photographic exhibition, and public events.

Films direction and direction of photography by Paolo Ghisu and Stefano Collizzolli.
Produced by Zalab and Associazione Bianconero.

The Summer of Larch, available as a video installation and short film, was selected at the Trento Film Festival (2025), exhibited at the MUSE in Trento, MART in Rovereto, and currently under distribution and available for cinema screening.

In summer 2025 we will continue the video and sound recording for the production of a feature-length documentary.
